The Atlanta Silverbacks’ Championship Trophy Tour will be making a special stop on Thursday when the entire Silverbacks team brings their NASL Spring Season Championship Trophy to Georgia Aquarium, one of Atlanta’s most iconic attractions.
Since capturing the title in early July, the Silverbacks have been bringing the trophy to sponsors, fans, events, and local attractions, giving hundreds of Atlantans a first-hand look at the championship hardware. Thursday’s visit to Georgia Aquarium will be a highlight of the club’s Trophy Tour, with a pair of the Aquarium’s divers set to don Silverbacks jerseys while they’re amongst the whale sharks, manta rays, and other sea life.
The event, which will run from 12-2:30 p.m., will also feature a meet-and-greet and autograph session with the entire Silverbacks team, as well as some prizes, giveaways, and small games for those in attendance. The dive will kick off the event at 12 p.m., with all of the other activities following shortly thereafter.
The event does not require a special ticket, so if you would like to attend, simply purchase tickets through Georgia Aquarium’s website.
The Silverbacks will host the Carolina RailHawks in their NASL Fall Season Home Opener this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Atlanta Silverbacks Park. The first 1,500 fans will receive a 2013 Silverbacks Team Poster and following the game, NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson will be on hand to officially present the team with their 2013 Spring Season Championship Trophy.
