The extension will not only allow more time for fans to come up with their own unique designs, but it will also provide more time for each design to collect votes on the club’s official Facebook page.
“We have been impressed by the logos that have been submitted so far, so we’re going to let the fans continue designing and voting on their favorite logos,” said Silverbacks General Manager Andy Smith. “The fan portion of this contest is very important to us, so if it means extending the time frame to allow for more designs and ultimately a more conclusive result, then we’re all for it.”
The club has received 32 unique logo designs thus far, and the number continues to grow with each new day. Now that the timeline of the contest has been slightly revised, here is a look at the schedule:
- Monday, December 10: Fan submissions and voting closes at 11:59 p.m. ET
- Tuesday, December 11: The logo with the most Facebook “likes” is declared the winner at midnight ET. The logo will move on to the final round, which will begin the same day. The designer of that logo will win a pair of 2013 season tickets, a team-signed jersey, and a dinner out with Silverbacks Head Coach Brian Haynes, General Manager Andy Smith, and a player of their choice.
- Tuesday, December 11-Thursday, January 9: Fans can visit atlantasilverbacks.com and vote for their favorite logo finalist.
- Wednesday, January 16: The winning logo will be revealed at a party hosted by the club, with the location still to be determined.
