Silverbacks midfielder Richie Menjivar and the El Salvador National Team will play Haiti in a monumental CONCACAF Gold Cup clash tonight in Houston.
El Salvador has started the tournament with a draw against Trinidad and Tobago and a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to rivals Honduras, while Haiti has earned a win and a loss. Haiti sits two points clear of El Salvador, who is ahead of last-place Trinidad and Tobago on goal differential. Tonight's match is the final round of the group stage, meaning El Salvador will likely need to get a result. First-place Honduras will be playing against last-place Trinidad and Tobago.
Menjivar and El Salvador need to finish in second and possibly third place to advance to the knockout round, and if the results shake out a certain way, Menjivar could be playing at the Georgia Dome this Saturday in front of his hometown Atlanta crowd.
Tonight's game will air live at 7 p.m. ET on FOX Soccer.
